Pastured Poultry processing is a wonderful example of ’waste not, want not’. And not wanting to waste one bit of the chickens we processed last week sent me to the kitchen! I knew just how to use the abundance of organ meat and chicken feet … raw pet food.
Raw pet food is wonderful for animals as it is what they eat in a natural environment. They eat less processed kibble, have more energy, fewer allergies and less odors. By grinding the organ meat, whole chickens and the feet, we provide a healthy, natural food for our animals. I use a course grind so there is plenty of texture in each one pound bag. Because they enjoy the raw meat so much they usually consume less dry food.
Next time you purchase fresh chicken from our farm, ask about the raw pet food, your pets will thank you!
